Barren but Blessed – Trusting God with the Rest

Support.
I was recently thinking about my love language and realized that words of affirmation is how I feel most loved. Words of affirmation is how I feel supported.
We all feel support in different ways and that’s part of what makes the world go round. The problem is, though, that all too often we forget to lend support in even the smallest way. A simple “you can do this” can change my day from drab to dynamic. A smile may do the same for someone else.
When we think of support, it doesn’t always have to be encompassed in big fanfare, but rather in big heart. Some of the most supportive things you can do are backed with a genuine heart to help.
God instructs us to support one another. Let’s pledge today to do a better job lifting up and supporting our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Galatians 6:2
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
I agree, even small gestures and little words of encouragement can make a big difference to people. It’s good to be intentional about doing this.

Hi Angela,
I really like what you say here about doing something with a big heart even if it’s small. It reminds me of the quote they say is from mother Teresa, about doing something with great love. It really does make a difference. I have a thing for words of affirmation and quality time with someone. Thank you for sharing this.

Thanks for this reminder. Yes, it’s important to lift each other up and, as you say, it doesn’t take big things usually, it takes a big heart. I have a thing for encouragement/affirmation too.

Thank you for the reminder. Sometimes that’s all it takes. I know how just telling my daughter, “You got this”, can sometimes help her over a hurdle.
