Staying Strong
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord,because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:58
There were many times in our foster to adopt journey that I wanted to quit. When I had a rotation of infants keeping me awake nearly the entire night, I wanted to quit.
When I ran into a birth mother at a department store, I wanted to quit.
When my child was having hallucinations so severe he was inconsolable, I wanted to quit.
When I was accused of having wrong intentions, I wanted to quit.
There are a lot of times in life when we want to quit and in this journey it is no different. When we agree to be a foster or adoptive parent, we are agreeing to face difficulty, uncomfortable situations and trials. Just as it is detailed for us in 1 Corinthians, we agree to give ourselves fully to the work of the Lord. We agree to give ourselves fully to this journey in which God has called us.
Satan will work diligently to sway us. He will multiply the difficulty and revel in the discomfort, but our command is clear – stand firm, let nothing move you. Hold tight to the knowledge that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
God’s word instructs us to stand firm, let nothing move us and give ourselves fully to his work. There will be plenty of days, weeks even, that this task seems impossible, but let your faith remain strong, knowing that the work you do in the Lord will not be in vain.
As you face your next difficult moment, take a deep breath, lift your face to the heavens and declare to the Lord that you will stand firm. This obstacle will not move you.

May God bless you as you invest in these precious lives ❤. Adoption is something that truly tugs at my heart… I pray the Lord would allow me to adopt in the future, and I’m very interested in Reece’s Rainbow and the work they do. I was involved with adoption fundraisers for a while, until the ones I worked with closed, but I still think of those families often and would love to find a way to invest in them again! Keep up the good work, and may the Lord give you his strength!
