It’s been a while. Unfortunately, life has taken over and I simply haven’t had the chance to get a good post out. What better day than Thanksgiving, though, to take a moment to write.
I’m thankful for the gift of writing. The opportunity to reach others through my words, bringing peace, comfort, humor or whatever it may be in the moment.
I’m thankful for health.
I’m thankful for beautiful children entrusted to me for short or long periods of time.
I’m thankful for hardships that have helped me grow, taught me lessons and molded me into the person I am.
I’m thankful for family and friends that support my crazy ideas, always come when I need them and are my rock.
I’m thankful for opportunities to share my heart for foster care and adoption and join others in their journey.
I’m thankful for heartbreak as each child leaves my home, knowing I loved them fiercely enough to hurt.
I have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving and every day, but too often I let life take over and forget to count my blessings.
It may sound cliche, but I pray you take a moment today to revel in all the wonderful things in your life, to count your blessings. I pray your day is filled with family and food and joy aplenty.
